Claudia Arozqueta is an interdisciplinary historian, curator, and writer interested in historical and contemporary interconnections of art, nature, science, and technology. Her research examines energies and life signs across a broad spectrum, ranging from the physical and emotional to the environmental and geopolitical. Arozqueta is the solo author of Heartbeat Art (MIT Press, 2025), “An innovative history of heartbeats, pulse, and technoscience in a wide array of international artists and composers”.

Arozqueta holds a PhD in Art History and Theory from the University of New South Wales, Australia. Previously, she earned a MA in Media Art Histories from Donau-Universität Krems in Austria; and a BA in History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.

Since 2006, her writing has appeared in catalogues, books, academic journals, and magazines, including Leonardo, Artforum, e-flux Criticism, etc.

From 2011-2013, she was Director of Enjoy Public Art Gallery in Wellington, New Zealand, where she curated over a dozen exhibitions interconnecting local and international artists. As an independent curator, she has organized various exhibitions for international organizations and festivals, including Blue Star Museum, San Antonio, USA; National Centre for Contemporary Arts, Moscow; XYZ Collective, Tokyo; Artspace, Auckland; TCB artinc, Melbourne; etc. 
 
In 2014, Arozqueta founded Modelab, a nomadic artistic initiative exploring public space, ecologies and experimental historical narratives, with recent projects at Les Traversées du Marais Festival, Paris; Taipei Artist Village, Taipei; Manila Biennale, Philippines; etc.

Arozqueta has been a curator and writer-in-residence at Takeover Beirut (2024); Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Montréal (2023); Soma, Mexico City (2021); Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2019); Treasure Hill Artist Village, Taipei (2019); Mabini Projects, Manila (2017); Sala Diaz-Casa Chuck, San Antonio (2015), etc. She is a fellow of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA) in Mexico.

She has lived and worked in Mexico, Russia, New Zealand, and Australia.
